Kyrgyzstan have reached the Bangamata Women’s Under-19 International Gold Cup semifinals with a 2-1 victory over the United Arab Emirates.
The UAE needed a draw to keep their hopes alive but Kyrgyzstan took the 2-1 lead in the first half and maintained it even after one of their players was sent off by the end of the match.
The UAE are now out of the tournament after losing their first match 2-0 to Bangladesh. Bangladesh and Kyrgyzstan with three points each will battle for the top spot of the group on Friday.
Bangladesh will need a draw as they are ahead in goal difference.
