Bangladesh stormed into the final of the Bangamata Under-19 Women’s International Gold Cup with a 3-0 win against Mongolia in the second semi-final at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Tuesday.
Midfielders Monika Chakma, Marzia and substitute forward Tohura Khatun scored one goal each for the winners.
Monika Chakma, was named as the player of the match for her brilliant performance, was delighted to receive the award and also wanted to share her $500 prize money with her team-mates.
‘I am really hapy after being named the most valuable player of the match. Please pray for me to do better in the final,’ said Monika.
The hosts will now take on Laos in the final scheduled to be held at the same venue on May 3.
Earlier on Monday, Laos thrashed Kyrgyzstan by 7-1 in the first semi-final.
