As a tribute to Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib, the wife of Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, a football tournament, the Bangamata U-19 Women’s International Gold Cup 2019 is set to commence on April 22 till May 3, 2019 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
Popular actor, Jaya Ahsan is the brand ambassador for this year’s tournament. Jaya said, “Being an artist, I have many social responsibilities towards my country. The girls participating in the tournament have come from remote areas of Bangladesh. Each participant has strong willpower, sincerity, humility and intelligence to be part of this tournament. This is a great initiative for the augmentation of women empowerment, and I am glad to be a part of it. I will be there to encourage the players, and hear their wonderful stories.” She added, “I, as an ordinary citizen request everyone to come and enjoy the matches, and cheer for the girls. Maybe, the applause from you all can motivate them to reach overarching glory, and create history someday.”
